Legal: Affiliate Disclosure And Privacy Policy

This page covers the two things worth knowing before you trust a comparison site: where the money comes from and what happens to your data. The short answers are that affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Viator pay us a commission at no extra cost to you, nothing is ever sold or charged on this site, and we collect almost no data to begin with.

Affiliate Disclosure: How This Site Earns

Every "Check availability" button on this site, and every in-text link that opens a cruise listing, points to GetYourGuide or Viator and carries our partner tag. Three of the six sailings are sold on GetYourGuide and three on Viator. If you book after clicking one of those links, the platform pays us a share of the commission it already earns from the operator. Your price is identical to the price you would see by going to the listing directly, because our cut comes out of the platform's margin and is never added to your ticket.

Those two platforms are the only affiliate relationships on this site. There are no hotel or villa links, no display advertising, no sponsored posts and no paid reviews. The videos embedded on the homepage earn us nothing, and neither does the map of Vlychada marina beside them. If a third network is ever added, it will be named here and in the footer disclosure before the first link goes live, not after.

What The Money Does Not Change

Inclusion. Every sailing that clears the tests is on the board: a real, currently bookable caldera cruise with published dates, and figures that survived two independent verification passes. Six listings cleared all of it, run by five operators. One operator appears twice, with two genuinely different products rather than the same evening sold under two names. Where a candidate turned out to be a boat already listed, sold a second time on the other platform, it was dropped rather than counted twice.

Ordering. No operator can buy a position and none has been offered one. Where a section leads with one boat, that boat is the most-reviewed in its section, a rule you can check yourself against the numbers printed on the cards.

What we say. The dinner cruise carries 158 reviews and the private charter 50, next to a classic boat with 7,405, and the cards print all three as they are. The big shared catamaran is described with its crowd of roughly fifty and its music, which is not the flattering way to introduce the cheapest ticket in the lineup, and it is the reason some people should book a different boat.

What we leave out. Five candidate listings were dropped during checking. One showed its price only on a Brazilian-reais page, and an unconfirmed price fails our first test. One carried 3.9 across nine reviews. One was the same boat family already covered under another listing, and two were held as alternates rather than used to inflate the lineup. Every one of them would have paid commission exactly like the six we kept.

Things we earn nothing from. The cliff path, the castle at Oia, the beaches, the buses, a rented scooter and your ship's own excursion desk. The sunset itself is free from the cliff path, from the castle end of Oia, from a terrace in Imerovigli, or wherever you happen to be standing at the right hour. A hire car, a scooter, the bus, a table in Ammoudi and the walk down to it, the black sand at Perissa and Kamari, and the archaeological site at Akrotiri all sit outside anything we could earn on. So does the excursion desk on your own ship if you arrive by cruise. Those alternatives get their say in the guides anyway, and where one of them beats a ticket, the guide says so.

The one part of your evening we can earn on is the sailing, and the four listings of the six that publish a price run from $75 to $128 per person. We could quietly push the expensive end. Instead the lineup opens with the $75 classic, the boat we call the best value on the board is the $106 one in the middle, and the two listings that show no price until you open them say exactly that on the card rather than being padded with a number.

How Ratings, Review Counts And Prices Are Handled

Every rating and review count on this site is the platform's own published number at the time we checked it, read off the live listing and then confirmed a second time on an independent pass before it was printed. Nothing is averaged across platforms, rounded up or invented. Where the two checks disagreed, the figure was left off the page rather than smoothed over.

The six run 4.6 across 7,405 reviews, 4.9 across 585, 4.8 across 4,454, 4.7 across 357, 4.5 across 240 and 5.0 across 50.

Prices work the same way and carry a bigger caveat. What you see is a current from-price, the cheapest option on that listing when it was read, and only four of the six publish one: $75, $106, $109 and $128 per person. What you actually pay moves with the date, the option you pick, the group size and the country you book from, so the live listing is always the authority. The remaining two showed no price to either verification pass, so their cards send you to the listing rather than carrying a figure we could not stand behind. A price that reads differently in two places usually means the platform is showing you a localised currency, not that the operator has put its fee up.

Search the operator's name on GetYourGuide or Viator directly, or find the operator's own website and book there. Sunset Oia, Santorini Sailing Center Renieris, Caldera's Boats Santorini Sea Excursions, VOLCANO YACHTING, Santorini Yachting Club and Explorer1 Yachting run every boat listed here, and each one is named on its card. We would genuinely rather you got out onto the caldera on whichever deck suits you. The comparisons, the cost breakdown, the FAQ and the guides work exactly as well as research whether or not you ever click a booking link.

Privacy Policy: What We Collect

This is a static site. No accounts, no logins, no comments, no forms, and nothing is ever sold or paid for here, so there is very little to collect in the first place.

If analytics is switched on, Google Analytics 4 records aggregate visit data: which pages were viewed, roughly which part of the world the visit came from, what kind of device, and which listing links were clicked. That last one is the only measurement that matters to us, because it tells us whether a comparison actually helped somebody choose between a fifty-guest catamaran and a table for six. It exists to show us whether a page is useful, not to identify anyone.

We store no names, no email addresses, no passport details and no payment details, because we never ask for them and have nothing to charge you for.

Cookies And Embedded Content

Google Analytics, if it is running, sets its own cookies. The videos on the homepage load from the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie domain, so YouTube sets no tracking cookie until you actually press play. The map of Vlychada marina is a Google Maps embed, which loads Google's own resources when the page renders.

When you click through to a listing, the booking platform sets its own cookie so that a booking can be credited back to this site. Those cookies belong to the platform and fall under its privacy policy rather than this one. The same goes for any operator site or official source you reach from here: once you leave, you are on somebody else's terms.

What We Do Not Do

Hosting And Your Choices

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. We do not query those logs to identify visitors.

Browser-level tracking protection, an ad blocker or a Do Not Track setting will each stop the analytics script, and nothing here breaks when they do. Every page works with JavaScript disabled apart from the mobile menu. If you would rather leave no tracking cookie behind at all, this page explains how to reach the same operators directly, by name.
